Rwandan Weddings

Rwandan Weddings

A Rwandan Wedding has at least three parts. The civil ceremony in court, the religious ceremony in church, and the introduction.  The introduction is a gathering of the grooms family and the brides family, when representatives from both argue out the Dowry for the bride. "Does electricity reach your house?" they could ask, "how many cows does your family own?" "What quality of drink are we toasting on right now?" These are remarks you could hear either side ask.
